New rules for those wishing to immigrate to Manitoba!

Manitoba will cease to penalize candidates for obtaining permanent residence status in the category of Skilled Worker:

  • which have close relatives in another province and not close relatives in Manitoba.
  • who have already applied for immigration to other provinces, and then expressed a desire to immigrate to Manitoba

will not be penalized.

Provincial nominee program to Manitoba (MPNP) in the category "SKilled Worker" used to have certain risk factors according to which candidates were deducted points -100 points for each of the above factors out of a maximum 1,000 points.
Among the original four factors of risk assessment, two factors still remain unchanged.

These factors are:

  • Experience in another province
  • Study in another province

As a result of these changes, only those candidates that really have worked or studied in another province will loose 100 points per each factor. To people who just showed interest to move to another Canadian province, as well as persons who have a close relative in another Canadian province, penalties in the form of a deduction of points will not be applied.
