Updates settlement funds for 2019

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada announced a new minimum of funds required for skilled immigration through the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC).

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recommends applicants to revise new numbers to ensure that they continue to meet financial requirements and constantly update their funds in their Express Entry profile.

Settlement funds are needed to demonstrate that immigration applicants have the opportunity to settle in Canada and pay their initial expenses, such as accommodation.

The main applicant can provide evidence of the availability of funds from his accompanying spouse / common-law partner, provided that these funds are available to the applicant.

The requirement for the provision of evidence must be met at the time of the application, as well as when issuing a permanent resident visa and at the time of the applicant's arrival in Canada.
