To be eligible to sponsor parents and grandparents, applicants must:
Be over 18; and
To be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
If you sponsor your parents and grandparents to come to Canada as a permanent resident, you must:
Support this person and their dependents financially
Observe the minimum required income for this program.
Sponsors must also demonstrate that they have had the required level of income for three consecutive years. If you are married, the income of both persons may be included
The sponsor and the sponsored relative must sign a sponsorship agreement that obliges the sponsor to provide financial support to the sponsored person for up to 20 years.
