MANITOBA INVITES 469 SKILLED WORKERS

Manitoba invited 469 qualified specialists to apply for a provincial nomination in her round on November 8, 2018. The Manitoba Provincial Program (MPNP) offered 300 candidates passing through the Qualified Personnel category in Manitoba, the Application Area, with the candidate with the lowest rating earning 602 points.

Another 69 qualified specialists were invited to the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream. The candidate with the lowest score received 705 points. The remaining 100 candidates were invited under  the Strategic Recruitment Initiative with the score 610 for candidates with connections to the province.

  • had a close relative residing in Manitoba or past education or work experience in Manitoba;
  • demonstrated at least six months of recent experience in an occupation on Manitoba’s  In-Demand Occupations list; and
  • had a minimum language proficiency of CLB 5 unless work experience is primarily in a regulated occupation (minimum CLB 7) or a compulsory trade (CLB 6).

The province's Strategic Recruitment Initiative includes recruitment missions, where provincial representatives interview foreign skilled workers overseas and later issue LAAs to individuals who meet the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) eligibility criteria.
