MANITOBA INVITES 432 SKILLED WORKERS

Manitoba invited 432 qualified specialists to apply for a provincial nomination in her round on September 14, 2018. The Manitoba Provincial Program (MPNP) offered 200 candidates passing through the Qualified Personnel category in Manitoba, the Application Area, with the candidate with the lowest rating earning 721 points.

Another 150 qualified specialists were invited to the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream. The candidate with the lowest score received 604 points.

  • had a close relative residing in Manitoba or past education or work experience in Manitoba;
  • demonstrated at least six months of recent experience in an occupation on Manitoba’s  In-Demand Occupations list; and
  • had a minimum language proficiency of CLB 5 unless work experience is primarily in a regulated occupation (minimum CLB 7) or a compulsory trade (CLB 6).

A further 82 candidates  were issued LAAs under the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream's Strategic Recruitment Initiative. 

The province's Strategic Recruitment Initiative includes recruitment missions, where provincial representatives interview foreign skilled workers overseas and later issue LAAs to individuals who meet the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) eligibility criteria.
