With the help of the Express Entry system, which conducts the draw about once every two weeks, since the beginning of 2018, 5 rounds of selection have taken place on the program Ontario's Human Capital Priorities Stream.
Human Capital Priorities Stream (HCP) allows Ontario to search candidates in a pool with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 400 and invite them to apply for a provincial permanent residence nomination. A Candidate from the Express Entry Sistem with a provincial nomination receives an additional 600 points
The Express Entry system invites far more candidates during the year than the HCP stream. For example, in 2017, Express Entry issued more than 80,000 invitations for permanent residence in Canada. Ontario has issued 6,500 nominations, of which only part is used for HCP.
In the first two months of 2018, Ontario issued 1,808 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination through HCP. During the same period, the Express Entry issued 11,500 invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada in four drawings.
To date, the lowest CRS score through the HCP stream in 2018 was 433.
The minimum CRS score through the Federal Express Entry in 2018 was 442.
It is important to note that not every candidate with the number of points in the declared Ontario range receives Notification of Interest (NOI). In contrast to the applications Federal Express Entry Sistem, where each candidate with a CRS above the minimum is invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
